Payment structure: Freelance / Commission only.

The role is responsible for the design and delivery of the ultimate business solutions, (including processes) and enhancements through facilitating all IT, IM and KM-related requirements arising from the relevant business processes in Mining (including mining technical services, geology, survey, valuation, ventilation, mine planning) as well as Strategic Long Term Planning.

It is responsible for the formulation of appropriate solutions to address the given requirement and ensuring the successful implementation of the solutions within the ICT governance framework.

Key Responsibilities:

For the Mining and SLTP business processes:

* Identify, analyse and understand IT, IM and KM requirements / opportunities in relation to the specific business processe

* Deliver business solutions supported by ICT systems

* Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships

* Manage relationships with vendors including scope of work and quality of service delivery

* Manage the risks associated with the development, deployment and running of ICT systems

* Facilitate business process enhancement

* Manage IT, IM and KM projects and initiatives including change management

Education:

· A relevant 4 year B degree or equivalent

· A post graduate qualification will be advantageous

Competencies:

· Basic understanding of Information Management (ICT) Leadership

· Good practical knowledge of the business processes supporting the mining and strategic long term planning environments

Responsible Care is an initiative of the international chemical industry with the aim of participants doing more than is required by legislation with regard to preserving the environment, the safety and health of employees, stakeholders and affected parties.

The person appointed to the post would be required to:

a. Formulate strategy with regard to the maintenance & development of the Responsible Care Initiative.

b. Ensure that performance of the Responsible Care initiative in South Africa is in line with global practice.
